Ever since I swapped the 9 to 5 for wearing all the hats in my own personal circus... my inquiry process was one of those two 👉🏼 Either schedule a consultation straight from my website, or fill out a form and I'll email you a link to schedule a consultation.
^^That probably sounds familiar. Dubsado set-ups pay some bills around here, so I can confidently say– that's what most people do.
The problem is that... well, there are a few problems.
- not everyone who is interested is ready to have a conversation.
- not everyone who DOES fill out a form will click the button to schedule a conversation.
- sending automated follow-ups without a way to opt out of them is a big no-no
- Dubsado doesn't have a native way to send follow-ups for not booking, which is telling.
So you can see how automating follow-ups is a ~bit~ more... nuanced... than most people plan for.
Now, if you're happy doing what you've been doing and it's been working just fine, great. Truly. What works for one doesn't work for all.
But if you're reading this and thinking that mayyyyybe you think you're leaving money on the table as well... I wrote a blog post with step by step instructions on what I did to fix this.

If you're not sure about this Reader, let's check the temp–
👉🏼 do you have an automated way to follow up with leads who don't buy or schedule an appointment?
👉🏼 do you have a way to continue to nurture people who are interested but not yet at the buying stage?

Obvs, people who click the 'work with me' button are in a far different stage of the buying cycle than those who grabbed a freebie, but the end goal is the same for both...
...to welcome and nurture ALL who come through my virtual doors and ultimately serve as many people as possible, at whatever stage of business you're in.
Here's what I changed:
1️⃣ I swapped out my Dubsado scheduler link with a Kit form. (not as pretty and it hurt a little, ngl)
2️⃣ The form triggers a welcome email that introduces myself, shares a bit about my processes & pricing, and includes a link an invitation to chat. (link to consultation)
3️⃣ If they DON'T schedule an appointment, I have 3 follow-up emails set to fire, 3 days apart. There's purpose involved here, but I'll save that TED talk for another day.
4️⃣ If they DO click the button AND schedule an appointment, the follow-up emails will NOT fire.
There's a bit of techy stuff going on bts, but it's really not super complicated. I wrote it all out for ya if you need the steps.

INSPO FOR YOUR SITE
I didn't make this, but stumbled upon this standalone landing page for a candle. The story behind the page is that it's a candle shop that had one item that sold really well.
Their customers would often not check out because they had SO many other products, it was overwhelming. So they pulled their best seller aside, removed the header and footer (i have thoughts on that 🤔), and created a one page sales page to use in ads.
👉🏼 Result? Sales went through the roof.
👉🏼 Lesson? Don't overcomplicate your offerings. One page, one offer, one goal. Love it.

Q: I’ve been trying to figure out integrating Calendly with Dubsado. I’d like to have a booked event in Calendly create a project. Then have a workflow begin and send an email asking them to fill out the questionnaire.
A: You can accomplish what you need with the Dubsado scheduler. Create a lead capture form and attach that in the scheduler’s advanced settings. Attach your confirmation and reminder emails to the scheduler. No workflow needed for those basics, but if you’d like further actions, use a workflow and toggle it on inside the lead capture.
