Summer reset—anyone else?

a weekly(-ish) newsletter on websites, marketing, funnels & getting paid

Hey, Reader,

Welcome to May-cember.

Good grief. The emotional whiplash of May should be studied professionally.

’Tis the season of graduations, teacher appreciations, gearing businesses up for summer with kids home and calculating how quickly we can get a pool installed. 😅

Throw Memorial Day weekend into the mix, and it becomes this strange combination of gratitude, reflection, high emotions, and absolutely no free time.

So naturally, I decided it was the perfect month for a complete backyard overhaul. Hi. It’s me. I spent April digging and planting.

Literal tons of DG for a new fire pit area. Extended stone patio. Hanging lights. Way too many Home Depot trips. Rehomed plants everywhere. Back-and-forth with ChatGPT trying to get it all just right.

We worked HARD on it. And it looks beautiful. But apparently gardens require this super inconvenient thing called “consistent watering.” 🙄

A few of the plants didn’t make it to May.

And if I’m being real, parts of my own business have felt underwatered lately too.

👉🏼 not showing up here in email land quite as consistently

👉🏼 letting my own marketing drift to the bottom of the list

Maybe you feel that way too.

Because it’s REALLY easy to put your head down, work your tail off, and suddenly realize parts of your business have slowly stopped getting attention:

— the follow-up
— the website copy
— the email list (oh hey 👋🏼)
— the inquiry process
— the offers
— the visibility (me again)

Sometimes things are technically “working”...

…but behind the scenes, there are small leaks costing you leads, momentum, or opportunities.

And sometimes you’re simply too close to your own business to see it clearly.

So instead of pretending I have some perfectly polished launch, banger resources, or a giant summer campaign ready to go, I’d rather offer something simple and useful:

SUMMER RESET SESSIONS ☀️
($397)

A 90-minute strategy call for business owners who feel stuck, or know something in their ecosystem needs attention—but can’t quite see clearly what it is or how to implement it.

We’ll look at:
— your messaging
— your visibility
— your nurture + follow-up
— your website/customer journey
— your offers

— whether paid ads make sense right now
— and where your efforts may be leaking leads, trust, or momentum

You’ll leave with ✔ clear priorities, ✔ practical next steps, ✔ follow-up notes, ✔ a focused plan for what actually needs tending this summer (instead of trying to overhaul everything at once)

I’m opening a small handful through May 27th. If you want one, hit reply with “SUMMER” and I’ll send over the details.

One quick weekly check to audit your own site

One quick check to audit your client processes.

Check this today:
Open your website and pretend you’re a brand-new visitor. Now ask:

• Is it immediately clear what I do, and who I'm for?
• Is there an obvious action step?
• Is there a way to stay connected if someone isn’t ready yet?
• Am I nurturing people between discovery and decision?

Because most people won’t buy the first time they find you. They browse. They lurk. They get distracted. They forget. They come back later. Or they don’t.

Sometimes the difference between the outcomes is simply whether your business gave them somewhere to go next.

If your ecosystem has felt a little under-watered lately, start there.

WEBSITES in the wild

Design & copy tips to attract right-fit clients

One thing I’m paying way more attention to lately is whether a website accounts for people in different stages of decision-making.

Bc we all know not everyone lands on your site ready to buy immediately. Some people need more guidance, trust building, a smaller first step, or just more time.

This site does a really good job of that. Instead of pushing every visitor straight toward “BUY NOW,” it creates multiple pathways into the business ecosystem:

→ The Guide
→ The Shop
→ The Community

The best part– the opt-in at the bottom doesn’t just collect an email address—it solves an immediate problem: “Not sure where to start?” THAT is strong ecosystem thinking.

CONVERSION Q&A

Marketing funnels & strategy for growth

Q: What’s the FIRST thing you check when a business says, “I’m not getting enough inquiries?”

A: I first check analytics to see how much traffic the site is getting. If initial traffic is good, and people aren't buying in right away, I look at messaging and other touch poitns.

Most people don’t convert the very first time they discover you. And if weeks—or months—go by without hearing from you again, it becomes incredibly easy to forget you existed at all.

This is especially common during busy seasons. Client work picks up, life gets chaotic, and marketing becomes “future me’s problem.” (Ask me how I know 😅)

But visibility isn’t really something you finish. It’s more like watering a garden: small, consistent attention over time tends to work better than occasional giant overhauls.

So if business has felt a little slower lately, don’t immediately assume you need a total rebrand or brand-new offer. Sometimes you just need to reconnect with the people already paying attention.
